The best kept secret to more clients and having a growing business

clientsWhether you are just starting out, or being in business for quite some time, one of the biggest problems we all run into at some point is …

….“running out of time”.

If you are a solo-preneur, working alone on your business, there are so many different things that needs to be taken care off on a daily basis and sometimes the most important things like building your business and getting clients just slip through the cracks.

Working with many VAs in the past few years, it is sad to hear when they tell me that they work so hard on client related work and keeping their clients happy, that they don’t have time to work on their own businesses. The reality however is that even when you are overloaded with client work, you cannot afford to lose sight of your own business.

In essence, there are 2 groups of Virtual Assistants

  • The first group knows what they want to achieve with their business. They plan their daily schedule and they make time to grow their business. Thus they set themselves up to achieve their goals. Their actions are focused and because of that, these VAs are on top of their businesses.
  • The second group of VAs has no clear picture of where they are going. Their time is spend haphazardly on tasks, they take way too long to complete things and sometimes they also feel that days and weeks just go by and although they were very busy all the time, they haven’t accomplish much. With these VAs, their business is on top of them.

So, the question is, are you on top of your business?

Every person in the world has only 24 hours in their day. Why is it then that some entrepreneurs can do so much more with their time than others? Perhaps is boils down on how they spend their time and how they plan to use it.

The good news however, is that you can also start today to get on top of your business, since the best kept secret to more clients and having a growing business, is to…

…. make time available to work ON your business.

Make time available daily/ weekly to do ONLY activities that can grow your own business – that can get you clients.

No matter how busy you are with helping your clients and growing their businesses, you need to take some time off each week to work on your own business as well.

To….

  • look at your own goals
  • review your plans and ensure you are still on track
  • develop new plans on how to grow your business, how to get more clients, and how to do it more effectively
  • take action on these plans

The bottom line: If your income is stagnating and you are not making progress in your business, it is most likely that you can spend your time more effectively. Evaluate and eliminate time wasters – those little things that eat up your time, then prioritise you daily actions to focus your attention on the important stuff that can grow your own business first.

You will never “find” time for anything. If you want time, you must make it.
