Virtual Assistant Networking

Networking is all About Building Relationships and Being Genuine and Authentic. It is About Giving and Receiving and Getting Involved.

Virtual Assistant networking is not difficult at all and is in actual fact one of the marketing techniques that does not cost anything. The only cost involved is a little bit of your time to tell everyone that crosses your path about what you are doing.

Tip
Tip: Always have your business cards handy. You never know who you might run into.

Where to Start your Virtual Assistant Networking

Start with your immediate environment. Ask yourself if the following people know about your business: networking

  • Your family and friends
  • Your previous employer and colleagues
  • Your hairdresser, butcher and grocer
  • Your pastor, priest or reverent
  • Your community

Networking is just another word for socializing and spreading the word. But where to get involved to get the best exposure for your business. What about ...

  • Your children's sporting events
  • Toastmastersnetworking
  • The Chamber of Commerce
  • The Rotary Club
  • Your church activities
  • Woman get-togethers
  • Business get-togethers
  • Seminars

To give yourself the self-confidence to talk about your business, a brilliant idea is to prepare a 30 second speech about what you are doing and what you stand for. Learn it by heart but deliver it like a pro!!

It will form the foundation from where you can have a good discussion with any prospective client.

Virtual Assistant networking is about telling people about your business. Whilst networking your name will become familiar to the community and prospective clients. Although direct networking can bring in numerous business leads, you can also benefit from indirect networking - somebody telling somebody else about you, and whallaa..., you've got the lead!

Remember that networking is not only about doing the talking, but a great deal of Virtual Assistant networking is also about listening.

Tip

Tip: People like talking about themselves. After you've informed them about your business, ask them about theirs. Ask open-ended questions like who, what, when, where and how instead of questions ensuing in a yes or a no only.

Listen to what they are saying, read between the lines and then respond in a subtle way on how your services can assist them. You will blow their minds away if you can open their eyes on things they need help with before they even realised it themselves.

If you can't talk to your friends about your business, then you either don't believe in it or you don't understand it.
